On-demand delivery startup Postmates is launching Pop, its 15-minutes-or-much less food delivery provider, in NY city the following day at 11am ET. With Pop, which launched in San Francisco back in October, Postmates includes a day-to-day curated checklist of lunch gadgets that you can obtain in quarter-hour or less. Pop can be on hand from thirty fourth side road down to the Bowery in big apple. Upon launch, there will probably be no shipping charge.
The launch comes a number of weeks after Postmates launched its Amazon prime-like subscription service, per week after Postmates launched Pop in la, and two days after Uber removed its UberEats rapid option in big apple.
“in order to bring you probably the most thrilling selection, the highest quality meals, and the quickest supply time, we’ve decided to slim our focus,” Uber wrote in an email to the big apple UberEats buyers prior this week.
even supposing Uber ditched the instant possibility, UberEats is sustaining its provider in the big apple. That’s likely because Uber actually says that its food delivery industry is rising and has doubled the selection of customers within the ultimate month, in line with business Insider.
given that the moment option in UberEats is principally the same as Postmates Pop — except Uber’s 10-minute delivery versus Pop’s 15 — Uber killing off the moment possibility in ny begs some questions. had been the logistics in big apple just now not working? was Uber overbuying from service provider in new york? were no longer enough Uber drivers in the big apple keen to deliver food?
What’s attention-grabbing is that Uber is only shutting down the Eats rapid possibility in new york, and keeping it alive in Chicago, Houston, l. a., San Francisco and the opposite markets it operates in.
I’ve reached out to Uber and can replace this story if I hear back.
