This may sound like inside of baseball, but I’ve been using Ulysses for all my writing for a couple of months now. It’s a rock-solid, smartly-designed writing app for iOS and macOS. And now, the app allows you to publish on any WordPress website with a native export screen, amongst different things.
Ulysses is a Markdown text editor that gets out of the way in which so which you can center of attention in your writing. but whilst you want to structure your text, add notes, tags and images, it turns into a powerful writing studio. most importantly, Ulysses is the exact same app on iOS and macOS, proving that you would be able to make skilled apps for the iPhone and the iPad. the company in the back of it received an Apple Design Award at WWDC.
back in March, I already wrote about my current setup when it comes to writing TechCrunch posts. I’ve been in a position to put in writing and post on my iPhone, iPad and Mac. i can decide up any of these gadgets and write an entire submit. and naturally, i can begin a post on my telephone, and end it on my Mac later. this flexibility has been key to my writing.
And but, publishing a put up to our CMS (WordPress) wasn’t straightforward. I had put collectively a Ruby script on my Mac and play around with automation app Workflow on my iOS gadgets. however few writers want to find out how they are able to profit from the WordPress API.
That’s why Ulysses supports native WordPress publishing. Now, in addition to Medium, that you can export any post to a WordPress weblog. there are numerous options for WordPress consultants. that you can choose to publish now, schedule a publish for later or upload it as a draft in WordPress. that you may tweak the categories, tags and URL slug. that you would be able to even set an excerpt and have picture from Ulysses. ultimately, that you would be able to choose between exporting in Markdown and HTML as WordPress supports both.
These features aren’t just on hand on macOS. They’re also all available within the iOS app. And if you know how difficult it is to post one thing on a WordPress site out of your iPhone or iPad, you understand why this replace is necessary.
I’ve been the use of the native exporter for a couple of weeks — it works neatly. And the much less time I spend in the WordPress backend, the easier i think.
